Powers

Magic: Rumiko's natural affinity is with electricity, so most of her spells have to do with that. Magic in Rumiko's setting is more soul-based than anything else. A person's natural affinity has to do with their own inherent nature, and is executed by channeling their own lifeforce and essence. Due to this, anything beyond basic magic is physically exhausting if performed for too long, and the most powerful spells carry a large risk of death. Often, trinkets and familiars are used to share some of the burden, channeling from their essence in addition to the mage's own. Magic can also be used by channeling another person's essence, but it requires the consent of the person being drawn from, and it could easily kill them if the person is untrained in magic.

In terms of what Rumiko can actually do with her magic: She can channel electricity through her fingers. At a basic level, she can rather easily generate a shock strong enough to slightly burn a person. With some focus, she could easily knock a person unconscious. An amount that would be fatal to a human would be exhausting for her, but fully possible. She can also fire it from her fingertips or channel it into objects she's focused on, but this is much more difficult and reduces the amount of energy she can create - firing a voltage that would be fatal to a human would be enough to make her pass out. She's also very rusty with combat magic, so it'd be even more taxing on her.

Alchemy: In Rumiko's setting, alchemy is a combination of magic and chemistry - generally, ingredients need to be dissolved in a boiling pot, stirred together, allowed to cool, then heated to rebind them, forging their 'core essences' together. It can also be done by placing ingredients on top of a specially prepared magic sigil drawn on the ground. Alchemic recipes are founded on combining the 'essences' in a way that makes logical sense. This is mostly down to basic chemistry, and what things are made of.
